THE DENTAL SPECIALISTS' CORNER

Braces: Dr. Frank Joseph Burrell Oral Surgeon: Dr. Steven Kupferman Oral Surgeon: Dr. Bach T. Le is the Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon. He graduated with honors from USC School of Dentistry. Dr. Bach attended medical school and has written many medical journal articles. He is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologist, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and currently is an Assistant Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the USC School of Dentistry and Assistant Director of Residency Education at LAC-USC Medical Center. His goal as a specialist is to provide his patients with satisfying results and does so by constantly learning and utilizing the latest techniques and tools. During his leisure time he enjoys outdoor activities, playing the piano, swimming, and he also holds a black belt in Judo. Periodontist: Dr. Gilbert Barajas Endodontist: Dr. Darren Smolkin graduated from Mc Grill University School of Dentistry in 1994 and specialized in Endodontics from the University of Southern California. He is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Southern California Academy of Endodontists, the Canadian Dental Association and Quebec order of Dentists. His goal as a specialty dentist is to provide his patients with a comfortable atmosphere and accomplish successful procedures. Due to his years of experience and skillfulness he is referred to by other offices and patients. Endodontist: Dr. James Chen graduated in 1997 and specializes in endodontics. He enjoys fishing and traveling. Dr. Chen is married and has two sons. His goal is to practice dentistry at a satisfying level. He is set apart from other dentists because he works at the microscopic level of dentistry. Pedodontist: Dr. Rabin Marfatia is our Pediatric specialist. He graduated from the School of Dentistry from the University of Southern California School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular cell biology from the University of California Berkeley. He has several years of experience working with pediatric dental cases. Dr. Marfatia’s goal is to provide dental care for adolescents and make their experience at our dental office as comforting, educational, and as fun as possible. Orthodontist: Dr. Neil Hansen Prosthodontist: Dr. Dinh Vo graduated in 1996 from USC School of Dentistry, Prosthodontics in 1999, and Maxillofacial Prothetics in 2002. Dr. Vo enjoys playing tennis, golf, cycling, badminton, and bowling. He also enjoys cooking, baking, wood shop, wine collecting, photography (studio and landscaping). His goal as a dentist is to provide his patients with the best dental care. Dr. Vo also received a faculty award at USC. Prosthodontist: Dr. Sanghoon Park graduated from Yonsei University School of Dental Medicine in 1999. In 2002 he earned his specialty degree in Prosthodontics at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He has great hands and was considered one of the most talented dentist in school. His goal is to learn the latest technology in Dental Medicine and apply it in his daily practice. He is happily married and has 2 lovely kids. He loves watching movies, traveling and listening to classical music.

THE DOCTORS' CORNER
Dr. Michael Bailey is a native Californian and a graduate of Loma Linda University, Dental School. He is an extremely talented and accomplished dentist with over twenty years of experience. Baseball is Dr. Bailey’s great passion and has been known to fly to Cleveland, Boston, and many other cities to view his favorite past time. Dr. Bailey delivers quality dentistry as he strikes out decay!	Dr. Zoila Cruz-Echegoyeu (Dr. Cruz) grew up in El Salvador and graduated in 2002. In 2004, she also obtained a degree in Progressive Orthodontics Seminary. She enjoys going to the gym, movies, and Tae Kwon Do. Dr. Cruz is also a first degree black belt. She has so much compassion for our patients and is very passionate and dedicated to her work. We are very pleased with Dr. Cruz and her great dedication to our patients, office and staff.	Dr. Chuck Le is a graduate of U.S.C. School of Dentistry, where he also was on the teaching staff. He has membership in the American Dental Association (ADA), the Orange County Dental Society (OCDS), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO). When Dr. Le isn’t practicing dentistry, he swims and plays tennis for fun.	Dr. Behnaz Nonahal graduated in 1999 and enjoys aerobics and volleyball. She enjoys doing research on health products and natual homeopathic medicine. Dr. Nonohal's goal as a dentist is to offer the latest and greatest techniques for patients in a comfortable and friendly setting. She pays particular attention to detail, works hard and is compassionate towards others. Dr. Nonahal has received certification in Endodontics, Pedodontics, and Orthodontics.
Dr. Hae Jin Hong is a graduate of University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2002. She is a very patient and caring dentist. She's married and expecting her first child in November 2006. When she's not working, she loves to watch movies, read books and inline skating.	Dr. Thomas Nguyen graduated from USC and loves golf, snowboard-ing, and traveling with his wife, Joanne. Dr. Nguyen is our resident “Mr. Personality” with his warm and humorous demeanor. Dr. Nguyen was once voted the most talented in his dental school class. He is an extremely proficient clinician and we are so proud to have him on our staff.	Dr. Jim Shen is a graduate of USC, 1989. He is an excellent dentist who strives for perfection. Patients love his gentleness and kindness. Our staff love him for his caring for everyone around him. His two favorite things to do when he is not providing dental care to our patients is eating and sleeping.	Dr. Charles B. Hart graduated from Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1961. He is a very compassionate and gentle doctor. He enjoys reading, listening to music, traveling and watching movies. He also likes spending his free time with his wife and son.
Dr. Nahal Niknam graduated from USC Dental School in 2006. Her interests are skiing, exercising, and dancing. She recently got engaged. Dr. Niknam's goal as a dentist is to provide optimal treatment in a friendly and relaxing environment. She also believes in preventive dentistry and emphasizes it to her patients. Dr. Niknam loves treating children and enjoys every second of her time with them . She also got a full merit scholarship from UCLA and was on the Dean's list at Dental School.	Dr. Peter Lem graduated in 1983 from Northwestern. He enjoys doing regular cardio excercise, is married, and has children. His goal as a dentist is to always be aware of current advances in the dental profession and share that knowledge with his colleagues. Dr. Lem creates interpersonal relations with his patients in order to understand their dental needs better.	Dr. Evan C. Baker graduated from the University of Washington in 1997. He enjoys playing the guitar, woodworking, skiing, chess, photography and very fast cars. Dr. Baker is a very kind-hearted person who is a proud husband and father of four great children. He enjoys dentistry and finds it very gratifying and fulfilling to help people with their dental needs. Whether it is to relieve pain and suffering, prevent tooth problems or to help build a beautiful smile and confidence he is always willing to give a helping hand. 7 Day Dental is very fortunate to have such a special Doctor on our team.	Dr. Christine Chung completed her undergraduate studies at U.C.I. in 1992. She went on to Loma Linda University to earn her Doctorate degree in 1996. Dr. Chung is a member of the American Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, and the California Dental Association. Dr. Chung constantly strives to improve and update her knowledge in the field of dentistry and related studies. She has always strengthened her understanding of diagnosis and treatment by reading research and attending post graduate seminars on such subjects as periodontal surgery, implants, esthetic courses, and endodontics. Her love of dentistry and genuine concern for others are two qualities that impress those who know her well. When she is not working, she enjoys tennis, hiking, playing piano, golf, traveling, singing, and meeting new people.
Dr. Lisa Tran earned her doctorate degree in 1994 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is married and has kids. Aside from dentistry, she also has a passion for interior design.	Dr. Beatrice Lu graduated from USC in 1991 and has the goal to provide her patients with quality dental treatment. Dr. Lu also enjoys reading, gardening, music, theater, and traveling. She is married and has two children.	Dr. Sophia Vu graduated in 2007 as a dentist. Dr. Vu’s goal is to develop trust and an understanding relationship with her patients so that she can help them improve their current conditions. She enjoys reading fantasy novels, retail therapy, shopping on eBay, golfing, and playing scrabble.
Dr. Mehran R. Mahmoudian graduated in 1993 as a general dentist. Dr. Mahmoudian enjoys camping, swimming, playing soccer, basketball, and table tennis. His goal is to take care of his patients needs to the best of his knowledge and ability. Dr. Mahmoudian performs at maximum level in order to ensure that his patients are content and satisfied.

THE DENTAL HYGIENISTS' CORNER
Pacita Sosuan grew up in Philippines and graduated in 1981. Her hobbies include cooking and baking. She enjoys traveling to different countries and learning about different cultures. She is a very warm and friendly person who enjoys caring and educating our patients on their hygiene needs. We are very fortunate to have Pacita as part of our dental team.	Cecile Demontaverde graduated from Cypress College in 1992 among the top of her class. she is a very charming and caring Hygienist. She enjoys traveling, listening to instrumental music, reading inspirational books, arts&crafts, and loves gardening. Cecile is very blessed to have a wonderful husband, four year old son, and a 10 year old daughter. 7 Day Dental is very lucky to have such a positive person working with our doctors and staff.	Linda McLaughlin is a graduate of Loma Linda University, Hygiene program. She is an extremely talented hygienist who patients love because of the extra care she gives and her patience. Linda enjoys spending time with her husband and three adorable daughters. Her other hobbies include skiing, boating, tennis, and shopping.	Julio Machado graduated in 2000. Julio strives to become a better hygienist everyday and is proud of his accomplishments in his dental career and always sets new goals for himself to help him work at maximum capacity with his patients. His interests involve swimming, camping, going to the beach, the gym, and working.
Mimi Tonnu is a graduate of USC Hygiene program. Patients love her gentleness and kind-ness. She is a very proficient hygienist and we are proud to have her on our team. Mimi enjoys reading and music. She recently jointed a Vietnamese chorus in Orange County.	Holly Dinh graduated from Howard University. She is a very talented hygienist who is very thor-ough in educating patients about their oral hygiene. She is patient and kind towards everyone.
