S Stephen Sollitt, D.D.S.

Dr. Steve Sollitt has been practicing dentistry at a high level for the past 26 years.  He was a recognized leader in the dental community of Downey for 16 years.  Following a college preparatory experience at Loyola Academy in Chicago, he got a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and a Masters of International Management at Thunderbird in Arizona (ranked #1 in the country in International Management for the past 10 years).  After a brief career in International Business, he realized that dentistry was the career for him.

Dr. Sollitt returned to school and graduated from U.C.L.A. Dental School in 1983, taking time to function as class president for the sophomore year.  After many years of mastering clinical skills, the desire to be on the cutting edge of new technology led to an eight year stint as the program chairman for the Downey Dental Academy, responsible for scheduling and producing 9 programs of continuing education per year for the Academy.  He also completed a series of 3 one-year residencies at Esthetic Professionals in Tarzana, California in the years 2004 – 2006.  He completed the Level 3 program of Bioesthetic Full Mouth Reconstruction Dentistry in 2007.  Also, Dr. Sollitt is trained and fully competent with the Periolase Dental Laser.  He belongs to several dental study clubs working on complex case planning in dentistry.

Dr. Sollitt enjoys developing relationships with his patients and educating them on the best treatment modalities available to them.  By developing a relationship based on mutual trust and respect, Dr. Sollitt makes it possible for the often fearful patient to realize that the best treatment available is really in the patient’s best interest for their optimum health benefit.  Dr. Sollitt has the expertise to diagnose, the compassion and desire to educate and the skill to treat the many different patients that we see.  Expertise, compassion and patience, combined with a sincere desire to do the best for each patient, at least partially describes why Dr. Sollitt is considered among the best dentists in Southern California.
