Patients who talk to our Ladera Ranch cosmetic dentist are told how important it is to have a good oral hygiene routine. That’s the way to keep a beautiful smile after a cosmetic dentistry procedure. However, there is some other good advice for people who have cosmetic procedures and that’s to watch what you eat!
There are some common foods that can stain those otherwise pearly white teeth. Here’s a partial list:
Curry
This is the ingredient in a lot of great Indian food and other exotic dishes. However, curry has a deep pigmentation that can stain your teeth over time. Although this is a delicious food, it might be a good idea to try and limit your exposure to it. This is especially true after you’ve had a cosmetic procedure like teeth whitening.
Still, there’s no need to give up curry altogether. Mixing in some fresh fruit and vegetables balances out the staining.
Berries
We thought it might be a good idea to get all the foods that you really like out of the way first. Berries can be good for you but they can also stain your teeth at the same time. Cranberries and Blackberries are two of the biggest culprits. Although they are popular for their antioxidants, there’s no getting away from the fact they can leave a stain on your teeth.
When you come in and see our Ladera Ranch cosmetic dentist, they will be able to fill you in on all the different foods and beverages that can have this effect on your teeth.
It’s all part of our commitment to making sure each and every one of our patients is completely satisfied. The priority at 7 Day Dental is always making sure each person gets the kind of dental treatment they deserve.
Beverages
There are quite a few different beverages that can stain your teeth. Unfortunately, some of them are very popular at the same time. Not only can tea stain your teeth, studies have also shown that it can actually erode away the enamel.
Red wine can have the same effect. There’s an acidity in some of the most popular sodas that can also discolor your teeth if you drink enough of them.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t enjoy your favorite foods. It’s just in your best interest to show some moderation with the ones that can have this adverse effect. Our Ladera Ranch Cosmetic Dentist is only too happy to help point them out.
